There used to be a time when your brand’s web presence was on your multi-page, static brochure-ware website. You built and they came. Well, at least for a while. Then it expanded to include some of your program sites, sites that were still under the control of your domain. Again, you built, some of them continued to come but others gave you an obligatory visit.
So what happened then? Fast-forward a couple of years and you find those “fish” now in their own favorite ponds. Your customers – and potential leads – talk about you out there. Not always, but often enough to spread the word – good or bad – about you. Perhaps, some of these words blow in the wind and reach you. More likely, though, the conversations get sucked into a vortex and never reach you (or even worse, come to your attention too late).
It’s time to acknowledge the changing reality around us and do something about it.
